A nationwide uproar is being witnessed following the military coup in Myanmar. Protesters can be seen on streets raising slogans and banging utensils demanding justice for the detained leaders and dismiss the military coup. The demonstrations, which had started with a few hundred people, has turned into a crowd of thousands. In November 2020, Aung San Suu Kyi’s ‘National League for Democracy’ party secured more than 80 percent of the votes in the elections. The army staged the coup accusing Suu Kyi’s government of not taking action on their complaints that the elections were rigged last year.
