At least 38 more people were killed in violent action by army and police on Wednesday in Myanmar. Protesters who were demanding restoration of democracy in the country in a peaceful manner were attacked by the security forces of the Myanmar junta. Since the coup, nearly 60 people have died in protests so far. Also, hundreds of protesters have been sent to prisons. Eyewitnesses said that police and army personnel opened fire on the protesters after giving warnings. Meanwhile, Pope Francis said on Wednesday that the hopes of the people of Myanmar cannot be suppressed by violence. He also appealed to the army to release political prisoners.
