Myanmar’s deposed leader Aung San Suu Kyi is facing new allegations of corruption leveled against her on Wednesday. According to Myanmar‘s state-run TV channel Global New Light, besides Aung San Suu Kyi, two more government officials are being investigated by a team of the Anti-Corruption Commission. Suu Kyi was detained on 1 February after the military coup in the country. The Anti-Corruption Commission was quoted as saying that Aung San Suu Kyi was accused of misusing the land meant for the charitable Daw Khin Kyi Foundation, which she chaired. Other cases against her are of violation of the Natural Disaster Management Act in view of COVID-19 during the election campaign last year.
