Israeli PM imposes nationwide lockdown amid COVID-19 pandemic

On Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced a nationwide lockdown due to high surge in COVID-19 cases in the country. On Friday, schools, restaurants, and hotels and other businesses will shut down. PM Netanyahu said, “I know that these steps come at a difficult price for all of us. This is not the holiday we are used to.” Currently, Israel has 150,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with more than 1,100 deaths.
