India to take over as the UNSC President for a month on August 1

According to the rules of the United Nations, India will take over the presidency of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for a month on August 1, 2021. The Ministry of External Affairs is engaged in making a strategy to utilize this opportunity in terms of Indian diplomacy. During this, India will specifically raise the issue of terrorism, terror-funding, maritime security and Afghanistan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Foreign Secretary Harsh Shringla will represent India in the events to be held under the Security Council on these issues.
