India and Australia hold first-ever 2+2 ministerial dialogue today

India is holding 2+2 talks with the Australian Foreign Minister and Defense Minister from Friday. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar are participating from India’s side in this meeting. The talks will continue till September 12. This is the first 2+2 ministerial talks between India and Australia. Discussions are being held on strengthening defense and security ties under the strategic partnership in the Indo-Pacific region between the two countries. The Australian Foreign Minister and Defense Minister will also meet PM Modi at his residence at around 4.30 PM today.
