BRICS’ NDB provides $1 billion loan to India for COVID-19 fight

BRICS countries’ New Development Bank (NDB) will sanction a $1 billion loan to India for its fight against COVID-19. NDB has approved Emergency Assistance Program Loan to India to reduce the country’s social and economic losses caused by the coronavirus outbreak. NDB’s Vice President and Chief Operations Officer Xian Zhu said, “NDB is fully committed to supporting its member countries in the time of calamity. Emergency Assistance Program Loan to India was approved in quick response to the urgent request and immediate financing needs of the Government of India in fighting COVID-19.”
