To counter the coronavirus pandemic, India is ready to conduct the world’s largest vaccination campaign in the country. Today at 10.30 AM, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the vaccination program through video conferencing. Three crore health workers will be administered vaccine in the first phase. On Friday, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan had reviewed its preparations. The emergency use of two vaccines, Covishield of Serum Institute of India and Covaxin of Bharat Biotech was approved earlier this month by DGCA. Covishield was developed by Oxford-AstraZeneca while Covaxin is a completely indigenous vaccine. The entire vaccination process will be monitored through CoWIN App.
