World Against Child Labour Day is observed every year on 12th June across the world to raise awareness against exploitation of children and pledge to abolish the malpractice. The International Labour Organization (ILO) raised the issue of preventing child labour for the first time, after which a law was unanimously passed in 2002, which made it a crime to employ children below the age of 14 years. The theme of World Against Child Labour Day 2021 is “Act now: End child labour”. According to a new report by ILO and UNICEF, the number of children in child labour has sadly increased to 160 million across the world.
