On Republic Day, a group of protesting farmers involved in the proposed tractor rally, crossed the fixed route and violently entered the centre of Delhi. After storming into the Red Fort, these farmers planted their flag where the Tricolor is hoisted. The police personnel were attacked by the farmers with rods and swords. At the ITO intersection, the farmers who were stopped while moving towards India Gate and Red Fort, tried to run-over the tractors over the police and media personnel. At least 83 policemen who were injured in the violence, have been admitted to Loknayak Hospital for treatment.
