MHA issues instructions to observe 2 min-silence on Martyrs’ Day throughout nation

Martyrs’ Day is observed every year on 30th January on the death anniversary of the ‘Father of the nation’, Mahatma Gandhi. This year, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has issued instructions for the States and the Union Territories to observe two minutes of silence in memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country. During this time, there will be a complete ban on functioning and movement all over India. In the order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs for Martyrs’ Day, it said, “Silence should be observed and work and movement stopped for 2 minutes throughout the country at 11.00 A.M. on 30th January.”
