The Indian Navy successfully tested the anti-ship version of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile in Andaman and Nicobar Islands today. Earlier on 24 November, the surface-to-surface supersonic cruise missile BrahMos was successfully tested. Amidst the ongoing tension at the Line of Actual Control (LAC), several cruise and ballistic missiles are being tested for the last three months. BrahMos is the fastest operating system in the world in its category and the range of this missile system has been extended by DRDO to 450 km from the current 290 km. The naval version of the BrahMos missile was successfully tested in the Arabian Sea on 18 October.
