Australia defeated India by a huge margin of 66 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the first match of the ODI series. Chasing a huge target of 375 runs, the Indian side lost its first wicket in the form of opener Mayank Agarwal. Wickets kept falling as Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer got out within a few balls. Shikhar Dhawan and Hardik Pandya batted excellently and recovered the early damage by their 128-run partnership for the fifth wicket and tried to bring back India into the match. Dhawan scored 74 from 86 balls, while Hardik scored 90 runs from 76 balls. However, after both of them got out, team India could only score 308 runs in 50 overs at the loss of 8 wickets. Adam Jampa took 4 wickets and Hazlewood took 3 wickets for Australia.
