ECI bans victory processions of candidates after counting of votes

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has banned all victory processions on or after the counting of votes on May 2, following sharp criticism of the Election Commission by the Madras High Court. A detailed order of the ban will be issued soon. The Madras High Court on Monday had strongly criticized the Election Commission, saying that it was responsible for the second wave of Coronavirus pandemic in the country. The High Court termed the commission as the most irresponsible body and said that a case could be registered against the commission officials for murder charges.
