COVID-19 Vaccination to begin in India from January 16

The vaccination program against COVID-19 in the country will start from January 16. On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a review meeting in which it was decided to begin the vaccination campaign. The vaccine would be first applied to health workers, whose estimated number is about 3 crore. After this, people above 50 years of age and those who are already suffering from some serious disease will be vaccinated. The number of such people is estimated to be around 27 crores. In the meeting, PM Modi took stock of the preparation of vaccine roll-out across the country. During this, he also inquired about the Co-WIN Vaccine Delivery Management System. So far, more than 79 lakh beneficiaries have registered on Co-WIN.
