The farmers’ protest in Delhi against the agricultural laws has reached 51st day on Friday. Even after setting up a committee to resolve the issue by the Supreme Court, the farmers are adamant on their demands to repeal the laws. Amidst this, the government and the farmers will hold the ninth round of talks at Vigyan Bhawan at 12 PM today. Although, the farmer leaders have said that they do not expect any solution to emerge from this dialogue. While, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has expressed hope that the discussion will result in positive outcome. Farmers’ organizations are demanding repeal of the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Price Assurance and Agricultural Services Agreement, Law, 2020, Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Simplification) Act, 2020 and Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act.
