Rapper Badshah pays Rs. 5 lakh to the original writer of ‘Genda Phool’

Bollywood rapper Badshah has deposited Rs. 5 lakh to Ratan Kahar, the original Bengali folk song creator of “Boro Loker Biti Lo”. On Friday, the rapper contacted the Birbhum-based folk singer Ratan Kahar via video call. The rapper’s team noted down his bank details over the phone the same day. After receiving the money, Kahar has reportedly called Badshah to thank him personally and has also invited the rapper to visit him at his residence in Siuri, a small town in West Bengal’s Birbhum district. Badshah was being accused of plagiarism for using Ratan Kahar’s song “Boro Loker Biti Lo” in his latest ‘Genda Phool’ video song without giving him credit. The video song starring Badshah and actress Jacqueline Fernandes has over 130M views on YouTube.
