Buddhadeb Dasgupta, renowned film director of Bengali films has passed away at the age of 77. His family informed that he breathed his last at his residence in Kolkata in the early hours of Thursday due to age-related problems. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee have expressed grief over his demise. Buddhadeb Dasgupta is survived by his wife and two daughters. The National Award-winning director was suffering from kidney ailment for a long time and had to undergo regular dialysis twice every week. Some of his best works include ‘Bagh Bahadur’, ‘Charachar’, ‘Lal Darja’, ‘Mondo Meyer Upakhyan’, ‘Kaalpurush’, etc.
