Uttarakhand Govt to open Char Dham shrines for locals from June 15

On Monday, the Uttarakhand government announced to open the Char Dham yatra shrines for the local pilgrims from June 15. These four shrines will be opened only for the pilgrims of only four districts. According to Cabinet minister Subodh Uniyal, the four shrines include Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamunotri, and Gangotri will be open for people from Rudraprayag, Chamoli, and Uttarkashi districts. Uniyal also added that “these locals will have to carry their negative RT-PCR report to enter the shrine. Currently, the state has extended the COVID-19 curfew in the state from June 15 to June 22.
