By Shyamsundar Datta, Tripura State: The festival of light, Diwali, is approaching. Forgetting the filth of darkness, the whole country will be exposed to light. However, this year, the atmosphere of compassion is having a significant impact on the preparations for Diwali. Even then, preparations are in full swing everywhere. Deepavali festival i.e. festival of light, various types of colorful electronic lights came in the market but in the present era the value of earthen lamp has not been lost in the suburbs including rural Bengal. There is still a lot of value in earthen lamps made by potters. Our representative rushed to the 2nd ward of Teliamura Municipal Council i.e. Pal Para in Teliamura subdivision to know how the earthen lamps are made. Our representative reached the house of Dhirendra Rudra Pal in Ward 2. He came forward with a smile from our representative and said – have you come to see the lamp? Come on. He said that in other years we used to make ten to twelve thousand lamps but this year we have made only two or three thousand lamps. But there is still a thought about whether I can sell the lamps I have made in the market. He said there are about 20 potters in the area.
