The merchant fabricated the story of loot to avoid giving property to his son

ASP East Anil Kumar said that Umashankar, a resident of village Terwa Dahigwan, had reported robbing a bag full of jewelry by bike-riding miscreants while going to Gausganj on Saturday. The SP had formed three teams to investigate the incident after reaching the spot. The police launched an investigation into the case, which revealed that a dispute was going on in Umashankar’s family. He had two marriages, in which the first wife has died. He has two daughters and a son Ravi Shankar. The daughters are married. Umashankar then remarried to Savitri, who has a daughter. The second wife got all the property in her and her daughter’s name. Umashankar’s son was in dispute with this matter. The panchayat had asked Umashankar to give five kilograms of silver, 20 grams of gold and two lakh rupees to the son and was due on Sunday. To avoid this, Umashankar coined the story of plunder. The police have recovered all the jewelry from their house and further action is being taken.
