Supreme Court dismisses PIL over removal of YS Jagan as Andhra Pradesh CM

NEW DELHI – The Supreme Court on Tuesday has dismissed petitions seeking the removal of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy from the post of Chief Minister. A three-judge bench headed by Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul heard the case on Tuesday. The Supreme Court clarified that the petition filed against him was not eligible for hearing. The bench dismissed the petitions filed by GS Mani and Pradeep Kumar. The petitioner asked the court to take action on the release of the letter to media. Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul questioned how this was possible after the gag order was lifted. The court held that the issues raised in the petition were contradictory. The apex court was incensed for filing cases by seeing the news in the newspapers. The bench clarified that the CBI inquiry on the same is a matter within the purview of the Chief Justice of India. The request for removal from the post of CM was not eligible for hearing and the issues stated in the letter are with different Supreme Bench.
