PM Narendra Modi today will launch the ‘Mahabahu-Brahmaputra’ project in Assam through video conferencing and lay the foundation stone of Dhubri-Phulbari Bridge. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the Mahabahu-Brahmaputra scheme will begin with the start of the Ro-Pax water transport service between Neamati-Majuli Island, North Guwahati-South Guwahati and Dhubri-Hastingimari. He will also lay the foundation stone of the Inland Water Transport (IWT) Terminal at Jogighopa. The program aims to provide seamless connectivity in the eastern parts of India. The proposed Dhubri-Phulbari bridge will be located on NH-127B, which originates from Shrirampur in NH-27 (East-West Corridor), and terminates at Nongstoin on NH-106 in Meghalaya.
