Navi Mumbai airport named after Shiv Sena founder late Balasaheb Thackeray

On Thursday, Maharashtra government has decided to name Navi Mumbai airport after Shiv Sena founder late Balasaheb Thackeray. The announcement was made by City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), said Urban development minister Eknath Shinde. Earlier, the residents of Navi Mumbai demanding to name the airport after late Peasant and Workers Party (PWP) leader and former MP DB Patil. On Thursday, Eknath Shinde said, “We respect DB Patil. The government will consider naming any other key project from Navi Mumbai after the PWP leader.”
