Meerut In the Bhavnapur police station area, a case of demanding extortion of lakhs from two dozen villagers has come up. There is an atmosphere of panic among the villagers after the incident. At the same time, the police is investigating the entire incident as an act of some mischievous element. Actually, the incident is of Mubarikpur village. It is said that on Wednesday morning, about two dozen villagers living in the village got some pamphlets in their houses. Addressing the villagers in their pamphlets found in their homes, extortion money ranging from two to 20 lakh rupees was sought. The extortionist had asked all villagers to deliver the money to government tubewells located outside the village at different times on 20 December. Along with this, on informing the police, the family of the villagers was threatened to be destroyed. Seeing this information of extortion spread like fire in the whole village. Due to which there was a stir among the villagers. Acting SHO Dhanvir Singh reached the spot on getting information about the case. Police interrogated all the persons including the victim villagers Shivkumar, Maganpal, Alimuddin, Jodha and Rajkumar. The victims said they received the leaflets in the morning at the doors of their homes. There is an atmosphere of panic in the village after the incident.
