Kanpur: Kidnapping of girl student demanded ransom of one lakh, accusations on employees

In Chakeri Shyam Nagar, Kanpur, a third year BA student was abducted by the shop owner and two of his associates. It is alleged that the girl, who came under the pretext of youth, took Rs 1.65 lakh in cash and three and a half lakh jewels from her aunt’s house. When the mother of the student approached the accused shop owner in the case, she asked for a ransom of Rs 1 lakh to return the daughter. According to Usha Rani, resident of Haridwar Milap Nagar, her daughter Karishma BA is a third year student. She is studying at Shyam Nagar Rampuram, staying at her aunt Meenu’s house.
