Mumbai : Team India had to taste defeat in the first match on the lines of Kangaroos. Australia beat India by 66 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the ODI series. After winning the toss, Australia decided to bat first and gave India a target of 375 runs. In pursuit of this goal, the Indian batsmen were overwhelmed. From Team India, Hardik Pandya scored 90 and Shikhar Dhawan 74 runs. But the Australian bowlers ruled that attempt futile. Chasing a target of 375, the Indian team got off to a good start. Shikhar Dhawan and Mayank Agarwal shared a 53-run stand for the first wicket. However, skipper Virat Kohli as well as batsmen Shreyas Iyer and Lokesh Rahul also returned cheaply.
