On Saturday, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall alert in several states across India. This alert comes after the southwest monsoon advances to the next level. IMD also predicted thunderstorms with light-moderate intensity rainfall in Uttar Pradesh in the next 1-2 hours. Along with Uttar Pradesh, other states includes Odisha Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Telangana will witness fairly widespread to widespread rainfall activity with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfalls. States like Bihar, Uttarakhand, and Rajasthan will witness widespread rainfall in the next 4-5 days. Kerala to have isolated heavy rainfall from June 11-15. The coastal areas and adjoining ghats of Maharashtra and Karnataka receive heavy to very heavy rainfall.
