Illegal sand mining found in Nagla Rai, a fine of 71 lakhs

The administration has imposed a fine of Rs 71 lakh on the Nagla Rai mining lease holder for illegal sand mining under the guise of a valid lease. Sand mining lease was left for 5 years in the name of Devansh Infra Company by the administration in village Nagla Rai of Kairana tehsil area. Under the guise of a valid lease left by the administration, mining contractors are mining illegal sand day and night on the strength of their domination. Apart from this, deep pits have also been made in the Yamuna with heavy machines. Which can also cause flooding in the surrounding villages during the rainy days. On 13 February, villagers of village Nagla Rai complained to the administration that the crops standing on their land were destroyed by the mining lease holder and his employees. Illegal sand has been mined on their lands and illegal sand mining is being done day and night. After this, on 15 February, SDM Uddhav Tripathi and Mining Officer Ranjana Singh reached the mining point with the revenue staff.
