Govt Oppn meet to end logjam in works

In a last-ditch attempt to salvage the remaining part of the monsoon session, the government’s floor managers have started reaching out to Opposition leaders to end the logjam arising out of the protests over the Pegasus snooping row and the three farm laws. A senior parliament functionary who asked not to be named said that the government may consider holding a meeting with Opposition leaders from both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha in the next few days to address the issue. A senior Opposition leader maintained that while they will participate in any such meeting , they will continue to insist on their demand for a debate on the Pegasus snooping row in which the phones of Opposition leaders, ministers, journalists and government functionaries were potentially targeted with military-grade spyware.
