Former Congress MP and veteran leader Captain Satish Sharma died on Wednesday in Goa at the age of 73. He had been a long-time representative of the Gandhi family in the Amethi Lok Sabha constituency. He was very close to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. Satish Sharma was a Union Minister in the Narsimha Rao-led government. He was Petroleum Minister between 1993 and 1996. Party spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the former minister. Surjewala has also expressed condolences to his family and friends.
