Delhi hospitals reopen OPD and routine surgeries as COVID cases drop

As the COVID-19 cases dropped in the national capital, hospitals will resume the OPD clinics and routine surgeries on Friday. The OPD services in AIIMS Delhi has been closed down for two months amid COVID-19’s second wave. According to senior health officials, AIIMS Delhi also to resume its outpatient clinics and admissions for patients from Friday. Dr. DK Sharma, medical superintendent of the institute issued an order saying, “In view of the decreased need to hospitalise Covid-19 patients and considering the relaxation of the lockdown norms, it has been decided that routine inpatient admissions, including elective surgeries in general and private wards in AIIMS and all its centres, be resumed with immediate effect.”
