300 crore works being done in Ujjain for tap water in villages

Efforts of the State Government are going fast in the direction of making proper arrangement of pure drinking water for the entire rural population of the state. In order to supply drinking water to every household through tap connection, the works are being done by PHE Department and Jal Nigam for the establishment and expansion of water infrastructure. Work of 365 water supply schemes is underway in Ujjain division by Public Health Engineering Department. The cost of water supply schemes is Rs 300 crore 09 lakh 58 thousand, including 78, Dewas 68, Shajapur 43, Agar-Malwa 28, Ratlam 84 Mandsaur 42 and 22 water resources of Neemuch in Ujjain district. In various villages of these districts, works are already being carried out under retrofitting by preparing newly constructed drinking water infrastructure. Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, where there are water resources in the water supply schemes, drinking water will be provided to the nearby rural residents. Water resources will be constructed in rural areas where there are no water resources. It is targeted to complete this system in a phased manner by December 2023 for the entire rural population. Madhya Pradesh Water Corporation is also working to provide water through tap connection in 38 villages of Ujjain division. 10 thousand 608 tap connections are proposed to be provided in these villages of Ujjain and Ratlam districts and this will benefit more than 48 thousand rural population.
