Tesla backer Baillie Gifford invests $35M in air taxi startup Lilium

On Monday, Tesla’s second-largest investor Baillie Gifford invested USD 35 Million in an Air Taxi-startup, Lilium. Currently, Lilium has a secured valuation of more than $1 billion after an extension of $240 million investment that was announced earlier this year. The Munich-based startup first garnered attention by flying its 36 electric jet engine powered Lilium Jet, on May 4, 2019. Baillie Gifford, Tesla’s second-largest backer after Elon Musk, is a 112-year-old Scottish asset management firm.
