The domestic bullion market witnessed a surge in gold prices on Friday. According to HDFC Securities, an increase of Rs 132 in gold price was recorded in Delhi bringing the price to Rs 48,376 per 10 grams. Significantly, in the previous session, gold had closed at Rs 48,244 per 10 grams. On the global level, there has been an increase in gold prices on Friday. Whereas, the spot price of silver has seen a rise of Rs 2,915 per kg on Friday. The price of silver has increased to Rs 68,410 per kg. It had closed at Rs 65,495 per kg in the previous session. HDFC Securities Senior Analyst (Commodity) Tapan Patel said, “Ahead of the Union Budget, spot gold prices for 24 karat in Delhi quoted Rs 132 per 10 gram higher.”
