Today the Supreme Court will give a verdict on fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya’s plea to review the May 2017 order holding him guilty of contempt. The order had pronounced Mallya guilty of contempt as he had violated Karnataka court’s order by transferring USD 40 million to his children Siddharth, Leanna and Tanya Mallya. A bench of Justice UU Lalit and Justice Ashok Bhushan will pronounce the judgment. Mallya, who is presently in the UK, is an accused in bank loan default case of over Rs. 9,000 crore involving his defunct Kingfisher Airlines.
