On the occasion of 43rd AGM of Reliance Industries Ltd, Mukesh Ambani announced Google’s investment of $4.5 billion (Rs.33,737 crore) in Reliance Jio platforms. Google’s investment translates into a 7.7 per cent stake in Jio Platforms. This becomes the 14th investment in Jio platforms since April 22. Jio’s recent investors include Facebook, General Atlantic, KKR and Intel Corporation, Vista Equity, Mubadala and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and Saudi Arabia‘s Public Investment Fund. Earlier on Monday, Google CEO Sundar Pichai had announced $10 Billion investment in India for the next 5-7 years for digitization of India.
