RBI to increase export credit period to 15 months from 1 year

RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das, during today’s press conference, announced an extension of moratorium of EMIs and loan repayments by 3 more months i.e. August 31, 2020. The governor also reported that the MPC has decided to reduce the repo rate to 4% by another 40 basis points. The governor also announced other key takeaways on export and import activities. RBI has given Rs. 15,000-crore refinance facility for SIDBI for 90 days. The export credit period has been extended from 1 year to 15 months. RBI also plans to extend Rs. 15,000-cr line of credit to EXIM Banker.
