Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a meeting with the country’s leading economists and experts from various fields on Friday. The budget for Financial Year 2021-22 is likely to be presented on February 1 by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The meeting between the PM and the economists have been organized by NITI Aayog. Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog, Rajiv Kumar and CEO Amitabh Kant will also participate in this meeting. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has estimated that the country’s economy may see a contraction of 7.5 per cent in the current financial year ending on 31 March, 2021. Whereas the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank have forecast a fall of 10.3 percent and 9.6 percent respectively.
