Gold price falls marginally, silver rate also declines

The price of gold and silver declined on Wednesday. According to HDFC Securities, the price of gold in Delhi slumped by Rs 49 per 10 grams to Rs 43,925 per 10 grams. The price of silver in Delhi declined by Rs 331 per kg. Now, silver rate has been reduced to Rs 62,441 per kg against Rs 62,772 per kg in the previous session. In the currency exchange market, the value of the rupee slipped 20 paise to Rs 73.58 against the US dollar. Tapan Patel, Senior Analyst (Commodities), HDFC Securities said that the spot gold prices were down by Rs 49 reflecting overnight selling in COMEX (New York-based commodities exchange) prices while weaker rupee capped the downside.
