Today, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Economic Survey in the Lok Sabha on the first day of the budget session. This year, the Economic Survey was not published on paper because of the Corona crisis and it was made available to MPs in digital format. According to the survey, there was a 7.7% contraction for the entire financial year 2020-21 and a recovery of V-shaped curve is expected in the next year. Also, an expansion of 11% in the GDP growth is assumed in the financial year 2021-22. Earlier, the budget session began with the address of President Ram Nath Kovind in the Parliament. After the Economic Survey presentation, Chief Economic Advisor KV Subramanian will hold a press conference at 3.30 PM.
