Delhi High Court extends interim bail of Unitech promoter Sanjay Chandra till January 21

The Delhi High Court has extended the interim bail of Sanjay Chandra, the promoter of Unitech Housing Project, till January 21. The court has taken this decision in view of his health condition. Earlier, the Patiala House court Additional Sessions Judge Ashutosh Kumar while granting bail to Sanjay Chandra had said that the accused has already spent about three and a half years in judicial custody and it is not appropriate to keep additional prisoners in jail due to the COVID-19 period. He was granted bail for 30 days on December 3. He and his brother Ajay Chandra were arrested by Delhi police’s Economic Offices Wing in March 2017.
