Britain court orders Anil Ambani to pay $700M to Chinese banks

Former billionaire Anil Ambani has been ordered by a UK court to pay $700 million to three Chinese banks in 21 days. Anil Ambani had taken loans for his company Reliance Communications Ltd. on personal guarantee from Chinese banks in the year 2012. Last year, a spokesperson for Anil Ambani had reported that “his net worth is zero and got bankrupt”. The loans were taken from Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Ltd – Mumbai Branch, China Development Bank and Exim Bank of China.
